Part II of various Lighting Tools that I created for The Callisto Protocol.
First one is - Character Lighting Rig. Designed with initial input to achieve specific Lighting Art Direction and spark new ideas. It not only generates unlimited variations of the desired look, but also lets users save their favorites for later use. As well as offers full control on top of the generated look. 99.9% of Lighting is done by hand, but sometimes it’s great to have a happy accident which sparks a fresh idea.
Next we got - Cinematic Vignette. I noticed that when it came to professional Colorists, they often used “windows” and dynamic vignettes to enhance Cinematography and even “relight” the shots. This tool can be added into the Sequencer and control the look non-destructively for each shot in the cinematic. Users also have full control over which sections of the shot they wish to darken or brighten in order to guide the eye even more.
Then we got - Screenshot Tool. Originally created to support Concept Art team by extracting specific imagery for a paintovers. Eventually, it evolved into Cinematic Screenshot tool that has user friendly controls for parameters such as lens format, aspect ratio, depth of field, aperture, etc. Its super helpful when creating marketing type of materials using in game assets.
Last , but not least we got – Master Sequence Player.
A quality-of-life tool that simplifies workflow. It compiles a dropdown list of all the cinematics and cutscenes within a level. Upon selection, it automatically loads everything into the Sequencer, including the appropriate camera settings, locked transforms, etc. Additionally, it provides quick shortcuts for easy Perforce check-ins.
